A full audit has been conducted to ensure that all new features are bug-free.
The zkSync Bridgehub is aimed at facilitating the integration of ZK Stack chains.
The latest software upgrade, v24, of the zkSync Era has been released on the mainnet without any issues. The security and functionality of this Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution are both expected to be enhanced by the addition of new capabilities brought about by this upgrade.
One of the notable achievements of the zkSync Era was the seamless rollout of the v24 update on June 7. As previously mentioned by the developers, a full audit has been conducted to ensure that all new features are free of bugs.
An important aspect of the upgrade is the inclusion of precompile P256Verify. With this update, devices like Apple’s Secure Enclave, Webauthn, and Android Keychain are now better equipped to sign transactions.
Moving towards decentralization, the zkSync Bridgehub aims to facilitate the integration of ZK Stack chains and is a crucial part of the zkSync ecosystem. This change allows for users and liquidity to move more freely and seamlessly between different platforms. The upgrade also introduced Validium mode to ZK Stack blockchains, which includes a new base token and a custom Data Availability (DA) layer.
In addition to the v24 release, zkSync Era has initiated the decentralization of its governance. This upgrade marks the last one to be carried out by the core development team before transitioning governance to the community by June of this year, as promised. This move may encourage a more transparent and community-based approach to development. The developers have addressed a few bugs found in the v24 protocol during the end-to-end testing of the testnet in this version.
