Ambire Introduces the First Extension Wallet with EIP-7702 Support, Integrating Smart Account Features into Existing Wallets

The extension allows users to keep their current addresses while gaining access to additional capabilities like transaction batching, gas abstraction, and programmable security.

It also eliminates all token approvals, enables payment of gas fees in stablecoins and other tokens, and adds smart account functionality.

The Ambire Extension is a browser-based wallet that natively supports Ethereum’s future EIP-7702 and has been officially launched by Ambire, a pioneer in self-custodial wallets. The extension unlocks portable, programmable, and cost-effective self-custody without requiring account migration. It also eliminates all token approvals, enables payment of gas fees in stablecoins and other tokens, and adds smart account functionality with an easy-to-use user interface to existing user accounts.

After private testing for nearly a year and making adjustments based on user input, the Ambire Extension for Chrome is now openly accessible without invite codes. The extension allows users to keep their current addresses while gaining access to additional capabilities like transaction batching, gas abstraction, and programmable security by fusing the advantages of smart account functionality with conventional EOAs (externally owned accounts).

Ivo Georgiev, CEO of Ambire stated:

EIP-7702, a protocol evolution introduced by Ethereum’s Pectra upgrade, enables EOAs to function similarly to smart accounts without requiring a difficult conversion or losing legacy compatibility. The most recent innovation from Ambire combines robust smart wallet features with a seamless user experience that is designed for speed, security, and composability:

  • Smart Features on EOAs: Without switching to a new wallet, users may improve their current EOAs with programmable logic, improved transaction security, and simplified DeFi interactions.
  • Cross-Chain by Default: A single address, native gas abstraction, and integrated swap and bridge architecture driven by Li.Fi and Socket provide a cohesive experience across chains.
  • Security-First Architecture: Offers restricted token approvals, an open-source codebase, scam app detection, transaction simulation across all chains, and independent audits to guarantee strong security.
  • Resilient Performance and Privacy: The extension, which was developed without depending on external APIs, offers great availability and privacy, even in the event of major service interruptions like the most recent AWS outage.
  • All-in-One Dashboard: Eliminates the need for manual chain switching by instantly displaying asset balances and dApps across networks.
  • Enables AI agents: AI agents may take action on your account in the future to improve the yield of your portfolio, save your DeFi positions, automatically claim airdrops, and more thanks to account programmability.

For a long time, Web3 users have had to choose between sophisticated wallet capabilities and simplicity of use. For DeFi users, memecoin traders, and onchain explorers alike, Ambire’s addon for EIP-7702 offers a single wallet experience that combines strength and ease of use. All users may now access and utilize the Ambire Extension at ambire.com.

Open-source, self-custodial, and safe, Ambire Wallet supports Ethereum Smart Accounts as well as EVM networks like Base, Optimism, Arbitrum, Berachain, Zircuit, and many more. Navigating Web3 with Ambire Wallet is easier and safer than ever thanks to features like EIP-7702 smart accounts, hardware wallet compatibility, the same address across all supported chains, transaction batching and simulation, and the option to pay for gas fees in stablecoins or ERC-20 tokens. The wallet may be accessed online as a Chrome browser extension and as a mobile application.
