Supra, a fully vertically integrated Layer-1 blockchain with Multi-VM support, in-protocol oracles, VRF, bridges, and automation capabilities, is excited to announce the launch of its competition, the “Super dApp Showdown.”
The first season of the competition is scheduled to begin in August 2024, with judges from Supra, Google Cloud, Republic Crypto, Hashkey Capital, and the popular crypto-focused reality TV series Killer Whales set to vote on the best projects.
The platform is inviting the most skilled blockchain developers in the industry to create and implement what Supra calls “Super dApps” on its robust Layer-1 network. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for investments from Supra’s recently unveiled $100 million Ecosystem Fund.
The Super dApp Showdown provides developers with a fantastic opportunity to quickly showcase their Super dApps to 1.3 million email subscribers and over 500k verified unique token holders on Supra’s gamified community platform, Project Blast Off. The Blast Off platform will feature a winning team’s Super dApp each week, complete with missions and objectives to educate users about their project. Builders can choose from a variety of incentives to offer, including in-game assets, airdrops, prizes, and NFTs. Users engaging with dApps can expect additional perks each week, such as partner airdrops, giveaways, and digital collectibles.
Season One of the Super dApp Showdown kicks off in August and will run for three months. A panel of judges from various categories, including DeFi, GameFi, and Web3 Social, will select 12 winners. The judging panel will include not only well-known “whales” from the Killer Whales reality TV series but also members of Supra’s leadership team.
Experts from major ecosystem partners like Google Cloud, Republic Crypto, HashKey Capital, and others will join the judging panel for the Super dApp Showdown. Supra’s community will also be involved in the judging process by voting for their favorite Super dApps. Builders interested in participating can apply through Supra’s Super dApp Showdown application website.
CEO and Co-Founder of Supra, Joshua Tobkin, expressed his excitement about the competition, while Sander Gortjes, Co-Founder of HELLO Labs and Executive Producer of Killer Whales, shared his thoughts on the event.
The Power of Supra’s L1
During the Super dApp Showdown, developers can explore the capabilities of Supra’s cutting-edge Layer-1 network, which integrates key blockchain and oracle services into a single, high-performance stack. The platform’s L1 supports multiple virtual machines (VMs), enabling developers to launch dApps directly on Supra and compete. The innovative Moonshot consensus method powers Supra’s lightning-fast speed and security assurances, outperforming competing mechanisms in global testing.
Supra’s Distributed Oracle Agreement (DORA protocol) and decentralized verifiable randomization generator, Supra dVRF, are integrated into the blockchain to provide real-time data accessibility and ensure transparency and unpredictability in various applications. Building on Supra offers developers the chance to access the $100M Ecosystem Fund and pitch their ideas to top investors on Killer Whales.
Supra plans to host the Super dApp Showdown regularly, with new seasons every three months. This allows companies to engage with the Web3 community quickly and showcase their projects. Advocates of Web3 can follow the competition and apply to display their Super dApps on Supra’s application website.
