The Solana team is gearing up to address strain and congestion on the network. They have requested that mainnet beta validators upgrade to the latest version in order to strengthen the Solana blockchain. A new stable version is being urged for upgrade, and Solana is preparing for another mainnet upgrade amidst the meme coin craze and high demand for platforms on the Solana-based blockchain.
Solana Status posted on June 10, suggesting the v1.18.15 release for the mainnet upgrade. The team has requested mainnet beta validators to upgrade to the latest version, 1.18.15.
Key enhancements in the upgrade include the upgrade to version 1.18.15, which is compatible with Mainnet Beta. This release includes metrics for threshold failures, fixes for transaction issues, and the addition of certificate authority certificates to the docker image. Scheduler optimization and worker precompile verification will also be included, with the consensus approach being the sole time shallow threshold checks are used.
Validators are expected to monitor nodes and provide updates if delinquent stake drops below 5%, as well as report any encountered problems. Developers and validators are eagerly anticipating this much-needed upgrade after a previous upgrade caused network issues.
