Ripple Collaborates with Chipper Cash to Initiate Payment Services in Africa

Ripple expands crypto payments to Africa by partnering with Chipper Cash.

Ripple started offering crypto payments in Africa in 2023 with Onafriq. Trump’s re-election brought a major shift to the crypto industry, not only in terms of acceptance but also in its adoption. It even dropped several major cases against crypto entities that were filed by the previous US administration. The 5-year-long Ripple vs SEC lawsuit has also ended recently on March 25 with a final settlement.

Trump’s presidency has brought renewed hope into the crypto industry, with several blockchain organizations planning to expand their products and services. Crypto-based ETF filings have also grown exponentially over the past few months. Meanwhile, Ripple is expanding its crypto payment services as it steers clear of the SEC charges.

Ripple Partners With African Chipper Cash

As per the latest announcement from the website, Ripple has partnered with African payment provider Chipper Cash. This partnership expands cost-effective crypto-enabled payments in the country for everyday transactions. Ripple Payments will provide faster, cheaper, and more efficient payment services in Africa.

Chipper Cash is the best partner for Ripple, having millions of users across nine countries in Africa. It allows customers to make cross-border transactions without any time constraints. Referring to this partnership, Chipper Cash CEO Ham Serunjogi stated, “Ripple Payments has a total global coverage with more than 90 payout markets and it processed over $70 billion in volume. Its core aim is to offer efficient cross-border payments for businesses and individuals. And, this partnership with Chipper Cash aligns perfectly with its broader vision.”

This is not the first time Ripple has offered its payment services in Africa. It first brought crypto-enabled payments to Africa in 2023 with Onafriq. Being one of the major and most seasoned blockchain platforms, Ripple holds the potential to expedite crypto adoption across the globe.
